Chocolate, Peanut Butter & Pretzel Bars with COOL WHIP

June 13, 2012 By Double Duty Mommy 34 Comments

Each night after dinner I hear the same thing, “Mommy, can I have dessert now?”. Dessert is usually a scoop of ice cream with chocolate sauce and COOL WHIP Whipped Topping because it’s quick and easy.

But I decided to give my kids a treat and find some recipes that are still quick and easy but gives them some variety to their life.

Chocolate, Peanut Butter & Pretzel Bars with COOL WHIP!

Finely crush pretzels then mix with melted butter and sugar. Press into 13×9-inch pan and bake on 350* for 10 minutes.

Meanwhile, beat dry pudding mixes, milk, and 3/4 cup peanut butter until well blended. Stir in 3/4 cup COOL WHIP.

SPREAD 3/4 cup chocolate mix over crust; top with bananas and then remaining chocolate mixture.

WHISK remaining peanut butter (1/4 cup) and half the remaining COOL WHIP (1/2 cup) until well blended. Stir in remaining COOL WHIP (another 1/2 cup); spread over dessert.

Refrigerate for at least 2 hours or overnight for the best results. Top with mini pretzel just before serving.

I’ve just never heard of a pretzel crust before. I have to try this. Does it have the taste of pretzels in the crust? I’ve had various crust before …this one just looks great all together.
