I’m a hoarder mom who likes to be prepared so even though Kendall is over 2 years old we still bring a diaper bag almost everywhere we go. Thankfully, my husband feels the same way so we always like to have table liners, extra binkies, extra clothes, diapers, wipes, sunblock, plasticware (we found cute ones from IKEA) since most restaurants don’t keep toddler size utensils on hand, snacks, empty sippy cup, band-aids, ect. Like I said – prepared!
I need diaper bag that can handle everything we need and that does exist but is it too much to ask that the bag is also fashionable and cute? My husband doesn’t care what it looks like but I do.
The heavens have opened up and brought me the Pink Lining Poppins Bag (Apple Tree)!
Just look at her. She’s gorgeous, practical, and functional. No more plain bags, or bags that<>are covered in Winnie The Pooh (as much as I love him) for this mama!
The outside of the bag is a cotton canvas that is coated in PEVA laminate (an environmentally friendly, food-safe vinyl that is made without chlorine or plasticizers). To wash the bag you’re suppose to use a damp cloth, detergent and warm water to wipe the bag clean. Thankfully we haven’t had any spills on it yet so I haven’t put the cleaning to the test. The trademark shocking pink lining inside the bag is also water-resistant which is handy when you are carrying sippy cups around with you!
The bag is a little deeper than most bags so you can have more room for all the baby essentials you need. I pretty much stuffed everything I mentioned previously in the Poppins Bag and it all fits perfect and can still snap closed!
Some internal features include:
- 2x insulated bottle holders
- 2x diaper pockets
- pen holder
- key fob
- small zip pocket
- padded changing mat
- wet zip bag.
Let’s talk diaper storage. The thermo-insulated bottle pockets will keep a bottle of milk warm for up to 3 hours. There are pockets for your smartphone plus a a pen loop, detachable mirror, extendable key fob. I may or may not always lose my keys in my purse or other diaper bag so a key fob is pretty much a lifesaver for me. If you use regular disposables you can fit about 5 in each diaper pocket for a total of 10 diapers. If you cloth diaper I’m going to say it probably depends on what brand you use but if you use the best brand in the world (AKA Applecheeks) then you can fit 2 stuffed (with 1 bamboo insert) in each diaper pocket so 4 diapers total.
This is by far my favorite diaper bag I’ve own. Yes, it is on the pricey side of the baby gear scale (about $110) but if it’s the only bag you need even after baby is all grown up then I can definitely see the Pink Lining Poppins Bag being a great purchase. I believe you get what you pay for so you can buy cheap diaper bag and replace it every few months or go ahead and spend the money on a nice durable diaper bag. I choose the latter.
