Disclosure: I participated in this program on behalf of The Fred Rogers Company and TheMotherhood! This program, the television show, and the toys are something we highly support and encourage here on DoubleDutyMommy.com. All opinions below are that of me (Jennifer-owner) and my kids, unless stated otherwise.
I think it would be safe to say that most of you reading this post grew up on Mr. Roger’s Neighborhood and even though the show ended a long time ago, The Fred Rogers Company has brought back some all too familiar names, episodes, and themes in Daniel Tiger’s Neighborhood which is tailored for kids ages 2-4.
Daniel Tiger helps teach your kids how to use their imagination, control their emotions like anger and sadness, play, interact with people in town, and learn.
Just like Mr. Roger’s, Daniel Tiger’s Neighborhood begins with him putting on the signature red sweater, and shoes! Daniel Tiger premiered on September 3, 2012, with 40 half-hour episodes in the first season. The program has ranked among the top 10 highest-rated programs for preschoolers since it’s premiere! If you haven’t caught Daniel Tiger you can do so on Netflix Kids as my 3-year-old discovered on her own.
Each episode comes with a lesson that kids can understand and take away from like trying new foods, potty training, the first day of school, parents leaving for work (or a MUCH NEEDED date night). They’ll learn catchy songs that kids will love to repeat and use in their daily life even after the episode has ended.
I was so very excited when TheMotherhood asked me if I would like to partner on this program because we are huge Daniel Tiger fans so when I learned that Daniel Tiger toys were coming out I completely freaked out. The complete toy line is exclusively at Toys ‘R’ us stores ranging from $5.99 – $39.99. Now your kids can play with Daniel and using their imaginations to make-believe just like Daniel Tiger does in every episode. We received Daniel Tiger’s Bungalow Adventure Playset and a mini Daniel Tiger plush.
Last week myself, along with a few other bloggers and the team of TheMotherhood were able to have a phone and web conference with the show’s producer, production manager and a child development consultant for the show, and with the toy company who designed the toys. We learned so much about Daniel Tiger, the new toys, and some of the behind-the-scenes stuff that goes on to create each episode.
We learned that each toy was made with thought and a lot of research. Your kids will truly experience never-ending fun with each and every one of the toys, like The 3-in-1 Transformation Treehouse. It’s an amazing 3-in-1 play set that the adventures are limitless! the house is loaded with 13 different features, like a rocket elevator, slide, or dance floor that Katerina Kittycat will definitely love.
There are even more toys to love:
