Disclosure: I received the Baby Shusher to provide my honest review. No other monetary compensation was received and receiving the product did not guarantee a positive review. All opinions are mine unless noted otherwise.
If you’ve ever had a baby than you are all too familiar with the single most common way to get said baby to calm down which is by saying “shhhhh” over and over and over again. You also know that quite frankly it’s annoying and gets exhausting it can be.
But now a genius product has come out called the Baby Shusher. I’ll admit that at first I thought it was silly and useless but that was only until I had this lifesaver in my pretty little hands.
The Baby Shusher is exactly what it sounds like. It shushes your baby… For you!! Gone are the days of saying, “shhhhhh” until your baby calms down or falls asleep!
Yes, even as I type this I can hear what you’re saying
“Really?! This is just silly. Why do I need something to say “shhhh” for me. How unnecessary.”
Oh, my friend, how wrong you are.
The Baby Shusher is sorta like white noise for baby. Baby is use to lots of noises, blood flow, and other utero sounds and it’s the constant “shhhh” sound that reminds baby of being inside mom. You can turn it on for 15 minutes (half circle) or 30 minutes (full circle) depending on how fussy your baby is (who can consistently say shhh for that long??) It’s important that that volume of the shush is loader than baby’s cry so the device has volume control but don’t worry, it won’t hurt baby’s ears.
With the included strap you can bring your Baby Shusher almost everywhere you go. We use it in Ben’s bassinet, bouncer, in the car, at the Dr’s office, restaurants, you name it.
Of course there is no product or technology that can replace the love and comfort that mommy or daddy can bring so please don’t use the Baby Shusher as a way of not providing the much needed parental comfort that baby needs. My personal feeling is that the Shusher is great for those moments where baby is just fussy or overly tired.
We’ve used it as a tool for Ben to get use to falling asleep on his own since he would literally only sleep on me for the first few weeks. I would get him asleep, put him next to me or in his bassinet and if he would start to fuss I would put on the Baby Shusher to help calm him down. It’s also great for car use since you can’t calm baby down by rocking them or shushing them since that breaks your concentration of driving.
If you aren’t too sure you can always download the Baby Shusher app first to see if your babe likes it. But of course you’ll be running that thing 24/7 so you’ll want to get the actual Baby Shusher product asap so your totally amazing long lasting iPhone battery can last you… until lunch time 😉
