As a lot of my readers know, we use cloth diapers. Ever since my (now) middle child was 3 months old we used cloth on her. It was definitely a learning experience since we didn’t use cloth diapers our oldest but it was pretty easy since Kendall wasn’t what I would consider a heavy wetter. When we found out we were pregnant with Ben it was a no-brainer – of course we’d use cloth on him as well. Little did we know that Ben would be the complete opposite of his older sister.
Ben is the definition of a heavy wetter and it’s worse at night, plus, he still nurses 1-2 times in the middle of the night. I have tried so many combinations under the cloth diaper sun to stop the leaks but sure enough, every morning he would be waking up completely soaked along with my bed sheets. With that being said, we do not use cloth at night, we use Huggies Snug & Dry Diapers. It’s a sad but true statement and I’m okay with it because it works for our family.
I shop at Target (here’s a Target Huggies coupon!) for well, everything. Seriously, you do not want to see my bank account statement because it says Target every single day, some days even 2 times. I need an extreme visit to TA (Target Anonymous). But that’s another topic for another day…
Thankfully (??) there is a Target just down the street from me so that’s where we get our Huggies from. They are so easy to find in the store and typically always in stock. When I went in the store a few days ago there was only 1 pack of size 3 diapers left though so that’s all I was able to get. Huggies Snug & Dry Diapers are the only disposable diaper I have found that both protects his sensitive skin and provides enough absorbency to keep him dry. They are made with a SureFit* design for up to 12 hours of leakage protection and I can definitely tell you that is true. I think we’ve only experienced leaks once or twice while he was wearing Huggies but that was because he was sick so he was waking up to nurse more often and I was so tired I didn’t have the brain power to comprehend that I should change his diaper. lol.
With a soft quilt-like, flexible waistband for even more comfort, the Huggies Snug & Dry SureFit* design will stay with your baby through all the twists and turns. Very important because even though Ben starts on his back when sleeping he definitely doesn’t stay like that for long since he is a master in rolling over.
My only complaint is that I really wish Huggies would put a protective barrier band around the back of the diaper as well. We all know the “diaper blow-out” all too well and I know that if they continued the band from the legs to around the back also, it would help hold those messes in the diaper and not up baby’s back.
As we become a household that only buys gentle or fragrance/dye-free items the Natural Care Wipes are the perfect fit for us. They are super soft, thick, and so gentle. And let me tell you, these bad boys can definitely clean up any mess! We have a pack in almost every room of the house and in both vehicles because they are great for cleaning up spills or messy hands and faces. My girls even like using them to blow their nose because the soft texture and the wetness feels great against their irritated noses.
