As a parent, I’ve had to do some pretty hard things like staying up for countless hours and running on no sleep the next day, disciplining my kids is up there is the “hard things”, as well as cleaning up more vomit than I care to remember. Another thing I’ve had to learn to get over is dressing my kids. Seems silly, right?
I used to be a manager at a child clothing store and that store was all about matching outfits, from head-to-toe. I absolutely loved it and my low-key OCD loved it even more. But as my kids have gotten older they’ve started voicing their opinion on what they like and what they won’t wear. I was super excited to partner with Crazy 8 for their #Crazy8Kid & #Crazy8ValueSweeps campaign because they believing in celebrating the unique individuality of every kid with the type of clothes that kids want to wear their own way! Perfect for the stage my family is in.
So I let my kids loose and they picked our their favorites.
I don’t know about where you are but here in Florida, it’s HOT! Plus, it’s been raining almost non-stop lately so that adds a lot of humidty. My girls practically live in dresses during the summer and this Floral Maxi Dress is perfect and shows my eldest’s style perfectly.
K is my little firecracker and her style is, what I think, the opposite of her sister’s. I absolutely love the floral dress she picked out because to my surprise, IT HAS POCKETS! Oh my gosh, I nearly died. The dress is machine washable and comes to about knee length so I still have her wear shorts underneath but that’s just my mommy thing.
And as much I hate having to control those gorgeous curls of hers, she loves her hair down and blowing in the wind so I’m not surprised she chose this cute braided headband. It’s also perfect for July 4th so I’m sure she’ll be wearing it then too.
I’d like to say these choices were all only made by my kids but that’s not true. The Crazy 8 website does a fantastic job of showing you and your kids what could pair perfectly with another item. Usually, they show you a top or bottom, and a couple accessories to match. But if you’d like, you could totally go off course and find what you like. K loved the shoes Crazy 8 suggested but since they didn’t have her size she found these distressed metallic sandals. I think the hubby likes them better too because they don’t have a heel. His BABIES can’t wear heels. Joking, he just hates that they’re growing up before he knows it.
Now what about my son, well, he’s easy. He’ll be naked or let you dress him. Just DO NOT try to put sunglasses on him. Kid hates them.
I went with a casual style and Crazy 8’s new graphic tees were definitely the way to go! I actually enlisted the hubby for this job since I am usually the one to shop. B has been loving dinosaurs lately so when he spotted the selection of dinosaur tees, it was a no-brainer. Pairing it with some light gray cargo shorts and slip-on sneakers was the perfect way to tie up the outfit, but not before adding a straw fedora hat!
