Disclosure: I was invited to check out Copper Creek. No monetary compensation was received.
The latest offering from Disney Vacation Club is almost here. As the 14th resort for DVC development and second based at Disney’s Wilderness Lodge it’s hard to believe Disney could outdo themselves, but like always, I’m wrong. From how the westward expansion of the United States is reflected and railroad spikes repurposed as a coat hook to the light fixtures that have been made from shards of glass. Everywhere you look at Copper Creek Villas & Cabins at Disney’s Wilderness Lodge you’ll find hints of “rustic elegance.”
Currently under construction, I got a behind the scenes sneak peek today and I could not have felt away from home. One second I was surrounded by my typical Florida views and the next I was instantly transported to the beautiful Pacific Northwest. When it opens on July 17th you can expect brand new everything but don’t expect it to look like it. The historical theme courtesy of Walt Disney Imagineering gives you the feeling that the resort has been around for hundreds of years and that settlers rejuvenated the area just for you.
The 26 Copper Creek cabins, set on the shore of Bay Lake, have wrap-around screened-in porches with indoor-outdoor fireplaces and a hot tub. The floor-to-ceiling windows provide great light and amazing views of Bay Lake. At around 1,400-square-foot the cabins will comfortably sleep eight people. With that, you have 2 queen beds, pull-out sleeper sofa, pull-out sleeper chair, and a favorite: a twin hideaway bed in the TV stand. DVC members will have private parking which will bring you closer to your home away from home. If you’re lucky to have a cabin on the northernmost end of the row, you will have views of Magic Kingdom fireworks and Disney’s nightly water parade on the Seven Seas Lagoon.
Cooper Creek will include 184 units, including three-bedroom “grand villas” that sleeps 12 people. Five different accommodations types give guests the flexibility to make their vacation exactly what they need it to be. You can choose from studios, one bedroom, two bedrooms, three-bedroom villas, and the spectacular cabins along the lake.
On property, you’ll also find two picturesque pool areas. Copper Creek Springs Pool is centered around the fictional settlement’s quarry with cranes and large boulder walls. The zero-entry pool also lends itself to an exciting 67-foot waterslide built into rocks! When you’re done being a kid again, kick back and relax in hot and cold whirlpool spas.
Copper Creek Villas & Cabins, currently still under construction, is scheduled to open for guests and Members on July 17. You can get more information at DisneyVacationClub.com
