Tips When Visiting Six Flags
The school year is coming to a close, and you want to take your family out to celebrate. Or let’s face it, they’ve been driving you crazy, and you need to get their energy out. Six Flags is a great way to spend an afternoon with fun, thrills, laughs, and memories for a lifetime. There are lots of choices when it comes to entertainment and theme parks so let’s break down the reasons why you should visit Six Flags!
Buy Tickets Online
Six Flags offers their biggest discounts if you purchase your tickets in advance online. Sometimes you can even find a discount as much as $15 which is well worth it and adds up quickly. Doing a quick Google search for any savings codes before your trip is advised.
If you have a stroller, great but even then I never truly feel comfortable leaving my stuff in the bottom of a stroller while I wait in a line for a ride. Having a good waterproof bag like these will do wonders for your trip. You can get them on Amazon here and have a few in no time thanks to Prime. Additionally, It’s smart to put your cell phone, money, and any important items in a clear plastic bag. This will not only make it easier to scan your belongings when you enter the front gate, but it will also make them easier to carry around with you without having loose items.
Throughout the year you can catch the many Six Flags locations hosting specials events. Spring and being eco-friendly goes hand-in-hand so it’s easy to see why Kia Motors America has partnered with the park to host Kia’s Ride and Drive Experience. This past weekend my friend Melissa of Sippy Cup Mom found Kia at Six Flags St. Louis. They test drove the Kia Niro and the Kia Sedona!
At the remaining locations, you can find the Kia pavilion located just outside the park’s entrance gates. They’ll be plenty of signage to direct you over. No matter what size family you have or what you’re in the market for, there’s a Kia car that’s perfect for you. There might also be a special gift after you test drive the car so don’t be shy. Stop in and talk to the wonderful people at your Kia Lounge.
Even if you don’t have time to stop and take a quick drive you should definitely check out the cars in a no pressure environment.

There are a couple of options to either save you money or save you some time and stress. Keeping an ice cooler filled with snacks and/or lunch will also save you a lot of money. I like this oversized family cooler, personally. When the kids are hungry, ask for a stamp on your hand before leaving the park. There are usually plenty of trees so you all can grab a shady spot to fuel up before continuing with your day. You will have to go through the metal detectors again which can be a hassle so plan accordingly. If you don’t care about saving a bit of money, plan your day around the non-traditional dining hours. Don’t go between 11-1pm when everyone else is eating lunch because the lines will be out the door and more than likely you won’t find seating. Having lunch before or after these times will allow you to enjoy the rides while everyone else is eating. Then, when you’re ready to eat, you’ll miss the mealtime rush and save time, getting out to more rides as quickly as possible.
Have a Safety Plan
Theme parks are big and can be very scary to navigate and let’s be honest; kids can be easily distracted and walk off in a split second. Take the time to show your kids what the Six Flag employees are dressed like when you first arrive. Also noting the Security Office, which is usually located at the front, is a good idea. Another tip is to write all of your info, and your child’s info on a car and place is in their pocket. I’m not personally a fan of the safety stickers or tattoos which can easily be seen by a passerby, but that’s another option for you as well.
Above all, have a fantastic time!
