That pesky groundhog may have said there would be 6 more weeks of winter but here in Florida, we have other plans. The sun is shining, the birds are chirping and it’s time for the 25th Epcot International Flower & Garden Festival. This may just be my favorite time to visit Epcot so if you’ve been putting a visit off, get those passes ready to explore the beauty of spring the best way, the Disney way.
From February 28-March 28, 2018 the arrival of spring is in full bloom with brilliant topiaries, interactive play gardens for all ages, rockin’ entertainment, and of course, fresh flavors from over a dozen Outdoor Kitchens. With colorful gardens, topiary displays cleverly crafted as Disney characters, and its emphasis on conservation the International Flower and Garden Festival is one of a kind in a league of its own.
There are more than 20 living topiaries around Future World, Showcase Plaza, and World Showcase during the 2018 Epcot International Flower and Garden Festival. Can you find them all? A couple new and some of your old favorites can be seen as you travel around Epcot enjoying the sights, sounds, and smells around you.
This year at the 2018 Epcot International Flower and Garden Festival there are so many amazing (and delicious) new choices on each of the menus I came across. As a picky eater, I can happily tell you that the Outdoor Kitchens have quite possibly my favorite thing at the Flower & Garden Festival!
From BBQ in American Adventure, to the island flavors of Jamaica at La Isla Fresca. Spicy eats at Mexico’s Jardin de Fiesta, and the simplicity of The Berry Basket featuring all things fresh flavorful berries.
Without question, my favorite Outdoor Kitchen is the *NEW* Honey Bee-stro located in Showcase Plaza (just before Canada). This kitchen is hosted by the National Honey Board to bring you fresh and exciting flavors of honey through each of their dishes and even the beverages.
Stroll through a fresh collection of imaginative spring gardens. These small gardens are themed around Future World and World Showcase. New this year you can find The How-To Garden with garden-ready ideas, learn how to create your own butterfly house, garden some crafts, and even learn some ideas on how you can live sustainable.
Also a new (and favorite) garden is the Imagination Play Garden! Located next to The Honey Bee-stro in Future World West, kids can park their sense at this imaginative garden and play area designed for kids of all ages. they can jump, climb, and move while parents relax under the shade on benches and comfy chairs!
Yes, of course, the Goodness Garden Butterfly House is back! Also located in Future World West, you can discover the benefits of butterflies while being surrounded by them! This up-close garden features multiple butterfly species and a nursery where you can watch a butterfly emerge from a chrysalis right before your eyes.
There’s lots of new merchanse and Annual Passholder exclusive merchandise this year. My favorite is definitey Minnie’s Farmhouse Flower Shop. The ears are the most adorable thing but you can’t go wrong with anything in the line.
There’s also Mickey’s Grove – Pluto and Orange Bird join Mickey in this harvest of apparel, headwear, and home decor items.
Figment Discovers – Figment unearths the unexpected in this fun assortment of apparel, drinkware, and garden statues.
Fresh Epcot – This collection features bright colors on fresh apparel.
Garden Rocks Concert Series
It’s back and better than ever! I may have to attend weekly because so many of my favorite bands I grew up on listening to will be providing entertainment while you digest all the scrumptious eats.
