Trader Joe’s, aside from being a brand that gives you the tons of bang for your back, offers customers many unique finds from the moment you step through the doors. The privately held chain was founded in 1958 and hasn’t stopped creating and innovating specialty products since then. If you ask any avid Trader Joe’s fan you’re sure to hear about their favorite items.

Trader Joe’s Shopping List You Must Bring With
Everything from health & beauty to pantry stables, and yes, even your favorite alcoholic beverages can be found on the shelves of Trader Joe’s. The prices blow me away and almost every time I go I can find something new to try and eventually fall in love with. During my first trip, I wasn’t so lucky with my finds because I was so overwhelmed by everything I saw. Hopefully, you will be successful with my go-to Trader Joe’s shopping list.
When it comes to drinks, I only get a couple staples but that doesn’t mean the Trader Joe’s shelves don’t offer many unique drink options.
- Alkaline Water + Electrolytes
- Sparkling Coconut Water
snacks and sweets
I promise, you can find more than just snacks in Trader Joe’s but it is one of my favorite things to shop for. I can spend $100 on snacks alone but I tend to have more self control than that… sometimes. Here’s what I have to purchase (usually multiples of each) during every shopping trip.
- Dried banana chips
- Veggie sticks
- Fleur De Sel Caramels
- Restaurant Style Tortilla Chips
- Milk Chocolate Peanut Butter Cups
- Honey Wheat Pretzel Sticks
- Cinnamon Raisin Bread
- Monkey Bread
- Croissants (3 pack)
- Croissant Loaf
- Almond Danish Pastry
The refrigerated section is where I spend most of my time. Their fresh meats, quick lunch & dinner meals, organic dairy items, and of course unique finds are all amazing and I need ALL.THE.THINGS!
- String cheese
- Yogurt/yogurt drinks
- Uncured, Dry Rubbed Bacon
- Fresh berries
- Bacon Cheddar Ranch Dip
- Caramelized Onion Dip
- Chicken Verde Enchiladas
- Balsamic Vinegar & Rosemary Chicken Breast
- Italian Chicken Sausage
- Fresh Bruschetta Sauce
The frozen section is another place I can get in trouble with. So many great items to find among this long open frozen aisle. Quick breakfast staples like blueberry waffles, to my family’s absolute favorite – Trader Joe’s Vegetable Fried Rice. Go through this area slowly or you’ll miss some good finds. Also, remember to look along the top of the freezer area because that’s where you’ll find the good sweet treats and snacks!
- Mandarin Orange Chicken
- Roasted Potatoes w/ Peppers and Onions
- Vegetable Fried Rice
- Chicken Gyoza Potstickers
- Pre-cooked Chicken Breast
- Chili Lime Chicken Burgers
- Garlic Naan bread
- Riced Cauliflower Stir Fry
seasoning and condiments
You can’t go wrong with any of the Trader Joe’s seasoning, condiments, and spreads!
- ‘Everything But The Bagel’ seasoning
- ‘Onion Salt’ seasoning
- ‘Chile Lime’ seasoning
- Organic Mayo
- Cookie Butter
- Clarified Butter
- Green Goddess Salad Dressing
- Coconut Aminos
BEAUTY / HOME
You would probably be surprised to know that Trader Joe’s has beauty supplies but I’m telling you, you will fall in love after first use. Here are my favorite items that I have to purchase again and again.
- Rose Water Facial Toner
- Hand Sanitizer Spray
- Toilet Paper
- Micellar Cleanser & Makeup Remover Towelettes
- Blueberry & Açai Facial Scrub
- Fruit & Vegetable Wash
- Nourish Hyaluronic Moisture Boost Serum
- Sweet Basil Foaming Hand Soap
- Tea Tree Tingle Shampoo and Conditioner
If you come to Trader Joe’s for nothing, you have to at least leave with their fresh flowers! They’re always so beautiful, fresh, and the prices are out of this world.
There you have it. While I also pick up the essentials like milk, bread, and meat; this is the list I have to bring to stock my freezer, refrigerator, and pantry the way I like it. Hope you find some new favorites. Happy shopping.
