Last year I test drove the 2012 Kia Soul (in Alien Green). The 2014 model starts at $14,400 but the model I drove with all the bells and whistles came in with a MSRP of $23,575.00 and got about 25 MPG city/30 highway.
When you get a 2014 Soul you get an updated sound, and nav, and stereo system.
Your smartphone2 compatible UVO system offers a number of convenient features that help you to relax and enjoy helpful features at the touch of a button or by using your voice. From a Rear Camera Display to Bluetooth®4 streaming and Advanced Voice Recognition, UVO makes it easy, all without subscription fees. My favorite feature was the The Parking Minder feature allows you to save your vehicle’s parking location and then uses your smartphone’s GPS guidance to route you back to your vehicle. We used it when we went to Busch Gardens and it was spot on.
The seats are two-tone leather with the word “Soul” etched into the seat back. Needless to say climbing kids and clean up should be a breeze. The leather does get pretty hot so owning the Soul in climates such as in Florida probably isn’t a good idea. If you live in the colder climates you’ll be happy to know that this model comes with heated front seats.
To say the “trunk” space is small is an understatement. I wouldn’t suggest this car to a family who likes to travel. The seats do fold down and there, of course, you will have a hefty amount of space, especially considering the high roof.
Other great features include:
•Navigation with SIRIUS Traffic
•Push Button Start with Smart Key
•Rear View Backup Camera
•Heated Front Seats
•Automatic Climate Control
My husband actually never drove the 2012 Kia Soul we drove last year but this time was different. He drove it almost every single day for a week and completely fell in love with it. In the past I said I felt like this was just a teen “first car” vehicle. I have now changed my mind and think it’s a great car for anyone without kids or maybe just one child.
