Walt Disney World creates magic at every park every single day, that’s no secret. It becomes even more magical around the holidays, again, no secret there. One event I’ve never been able to experience until this year was The Candlelight Processional. For some strange reason, I’ve never been able to make it to Epcot to see this show but this year was different.

The Candlelight Processional is a breathtaking retelling of the Christmas story in words and music complete with a 50 piece orchestra, choir, and celebrity guest narrators (Whoopi Goldberg was the celebrity guest at our show). The narrator reads the Christmas story and interspersed our favorite carols of the season. The colorful robes aren’t just for looks either. The choir consists of members of Disney’s Voices of Liberty (red attire), the Cast Member choir (green robes), and also visiting high schools and guest choirs (gold robes).

Held in Epcot at the American Gardens Theater, you won’t be able to miss it while walking Around The World. The theater is handicap accessible and a sign language narrator will also be available to interpret for each performance.

This is an open air theater, and although there is a roof, you may get wet if it rains (it hasn’t recently). Remember to dress for being outside. Although you are in Florida, it has been getting really cold. Highs in the lower 70’s and lows in the lower 50’s, plus a breeze. That may not sound bad but it’s chilly so don’t say I didn’t warn you. And our weather changes every second so of course, check the weather before you arrive.
There are three performances each evening – 5:00, 6:45 and 8:15 p.m but that can change so check the website before going. The length of the show is 45 minutes.

Every year, celebrity performers come in to perform and narrate the show. This year is no different but keep in mind that program offerings, celebrity narrators, and other elements are subject to change without notice and often do.
2016 Celebrity Narrators for remaining shows:

December 10-12: Robby Benson
December 13-15: Meredith Vieira
December 16-18: Jim Caviezel
December 19-21: Joe Morton
December 22-24: Ming-Na Wen

*Show times are nightly at 5:00, 6:45 and 8:15 p.m., except on December 4, when show times will be at 6:45 and 8:15 p.m. only.
I also made a note of the Processional program. Lots of holiday favorites in there!
“Angels From the Realms of Glory”
“Il Est Ne” (English & French)
“The Hallelujah Chorus”
“Away in a Manger”
“Joy to the World”
“O Come All Ye Faithful”
“O! Holy Night”
“Rejoice With Exceeding Great Joy”
“Shout for Joy”
“Silent Night” (English & German)
“What Child Is This?” (English & Spanish)
Christmas Around the World is absolutely beautiful and the decorations you find will have you staring at each and very little detail. I love the creative teams behind Disney decorations. Those people know what they’re doing, I swear.
