Ant-Man is the second Marvel genius to grace us this year (so far) and how hilariously refreshing it is! As someone who has never read the Ant-Man comics, I was completely clueless of what to expect sitting in the theater waiting for the film to roll. I can tell you, I was not prepared to find myself so easily enamored with the entire production.
To set the stage, we are briefly introduced to Hank Pym (Michael Douglas) in the opening of the film. It’s 1989 and he is eradicated from his own company for refusing to provide SHIELD with the “Pym-Particle”. Pym’s discovery is of subatomic particles that have the ability to reduce a subject’s size to that of an ant. Pym also has the reverse formula as well as the concern for what the particle, in the wrong hands, could mean for the future.
