Disclosure: I participated in an Ambassador Activation on behalf of Mom Central Consulting for Lay’s. I received a promotional item to thank me for participating. Before entering any contest be sure to read the official rules.
Getting creative in the kitchen can be a thing of beauty. Some of the best foodies get creative in the kitchen and even though not all of those recipes may work in the end, it is about the fun and experimenting that keeps people in the kitchen time after time. It really just makes sense that Lay’s is asking consumers to dig into their own recipe collections to come up with the next big chip flavor again this year.
I’ve never really considered myself a creative cook though. I usually tend to follow a recipe to the dot which is not necessarily a bad thing but once I got a blog and brands starting asking me for recipes I had to dig deep into that creative part of myself. Not all recipes have made the pages of this blog though because as I said before not everything works out once you put the ingredients together as you might imagine it in your head.
Thanks to Pinterest I can find recipes and change them up to the style and flavors that my family enjoys. Here are some recipes that did make the blog.
Lay’s Do Us a Flavor Contest
The great thing about potato chips is that they can be so versatile. I can think of so many recipes would translate into a great chip flavor, cant you? As I’ve said in the past, sweet and salty is one of my favorite combos so I would love to see a sweet chip flavor. If you have chip flavor ideas you’re in luck because there’s still time to enter the “Do Us a Flavor” contest! All you have to do is submit a flavor name, up to three ingredients for the flavor and which chip style you think it would work best for along with a brief description of the flavor. Hurry though, it ends on April 5, 2014. See rules here:
The Lay’s “Do Us A Flavor” contest invites fans nationwide to submit their ideas for the next great Lay’s potato chip flavor for the chance to win a $1 million grand prize. A judging panel made up of chefs, foodies and flavor experts will narrow down the contest submissions to four finalist flavors. The four finalist flavors will then be fully developed by Frito-Lay’s culinary experts and unveiled in summer 2014 and sold nationwide. From there, it will be up to fans to vote for the finalist flavor they want to see stay on store shelves, and the finalist behind the winning flavor will take home the million dollar grand prize.
New this year, fans are able to choose from three potato chip forms – Lay’s Original, Lay’s Kettle Cooked and/or Lay’s Wavy – for their flavor ideas.
What flavor would you invent?
