Traveling to Orlando can be exciting, fun, and let’s admit it – overwhelming at times. When you’ve spent all day (and more money than you care to admit) at Disney, all you want to do is relax. If you have a husband like mine, his idea of relaxing might be going to play 18-holes on a course. But you came to vacation as a family, right? What if he can get what he wants, you all could spend time together, and the entire family could have fun?
Insert – Drive Shack!
Drive Shack | Family Fun All Day Long!
Drive Shack is an interactive golf entertainment complex/driving range. You’re greeted by the three-story, 57,000-square-foot driving range entertainment facility that includes a restaurant, lounge, bar, hitting bays and meeting spaces.
Each Bay can hold up to 6 people. You pay by the hour per bay so for a night out with 5 other friends, you can split the cost which makes this a great choice for a guy’s night out or getting our girlfriends together.
Each bay has a nice sized section couch, table, 3 flat screen TVs, clubs and 2 additional spaces to hold golf clubs.
At the time of this post, cost per hour are as follows:
- OPEN-12PM: $30/hour
- 12PM-5PM: $40/hour
- 5PM-CLOSE: $50/hour
Drive Shack uses Foresight Sports’ technology, which spits out information on
There are 10 different play styles/games to choose from. Since this was our first visit, we chose the Classic Play but I’ll definitely mix it up next time by playing Monster Hunt or SHACK (aka the basketball game “HORSE”).
Drive Shack Menu
We tried a variety of menu choices during our visit and everyone was quite pleased. There is a full restaurant and bar available so whether you’re in the mood for appetizers, lunch or full-on dinner, Drive Shack has something for you and everyone else in the family – even the picky ones.
The Veggie Flatbread was big enough to share and quite possibly one of our favorite items we tried. I will say, the one thing I was completely unimpressed with was the Caprese Panini. It was basically a grilled cheese sandwich. A ton of cheese with two small tomatoes, and a couple of small strips of basil that I couldn’t even taste due to how small they were. Everything else was top notch except for that
Kids Golf Teams Play For Free!
The golf and entertainment venue is introducing a Junior Drive program to help support avid young golfers, their love of the game and their drive to excel. The program provides FREE practice and play for kids and teens at Drive Shack, now through the rest of the school year.
Young golfers can hone their skills while having fun. They can take down monsters in an exciting game of Monster Hunt or play SHACK, a take on the classic game of HORSE. For those advanced players who are ready to tee off on a course, there’s virtual play on one of five challenging courses. Also, with Pro Practice they can get immediate feedback and learn more about their swing, track their speed, distances and more.
The free practice and play sessions will be available every Monday through Friday, from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m., now through June 1, 2019, and are open to kids elementary through high school that are currently participating in an organized golf program, team, or league led by a school, private institution, nonprofit organization or youth group.Drive Shack currently has one location, which is conveniently near Orlando International Airport, in quiet Lake Nona suburb of Orlando.
