I don’t visit Universal Studios Orlando often but when I do we always have a blast. It was especially true for our recent visit. Starting December 3rd, Universal Studios Islands of Adventure turns their popular Seuss Landing section into a winter wonderland.
At Grichmas all the Whos in Whoville bring to life the Dr. Seuss book “How The Grinch Stole Christmas” in the heartwarming life stage show, “Grinchmas Wholiday Spectacular”, which we were so excited to see.
The “Grinchmas Wholiday spectacular” was the first thing we ran off to see as soon as we arrived at Universal Studios Island of Adventure. We got in early and snagged a perfect view of the stage to see Grinch, Cindy Lou, Max (the Grinch’s faithful companion), and all the Whos you know and have come to love.
The indoor area where the show took place was very hot and the wait time was about 15 minutes from the time we were in the theater till the show started. As more and more people took their seat the theater felt even hotter. Because of the wait time kids were getting really restless. Needless to say everyone was happy when the show started!
“Grinchmas Wholiday Spectacular” was really fun with catchy songs and familiar songs like, “Where Are You Christmas?” sung by Cindy Lou. A few kids were scared of the Grinch so you may want to take caution going to the show if you know your kids aren’t fond of characters dressed up.
After we saw the Grinchmas show we headed over to Universal Studios Florida where we caught the 10th anniversary of the Macy’s Holiday Parade. Tip: catch a seat in New York City by the Christmas tree. Santa stops right in front of it with the Rockette like dancers and you can see the tree up close and personal as Santa Claus has the tree lights turned on!
We next walked through the Holiday Village where kids can get their face painted, you can decorate cookies and grab a quick bite. We found a strange booth in the Holiday Village that served Taco Cones, Mac and Cheese Cones and Thanksgiving Cones. Yep, it’s just as it sounds… a taco in a waffle style [ice cream] cone. It was dark and we were starving so I forgot to snap a picture of it but it was pretty tasty but definitely not enough food for the price. Makenna had the Mac & Cheese Cone with Shrimp on top and she said it was “sooo yummy.”
If you can get to the Music Plaza stage on time you can catch Mannheim Steamroller on select days in December. They are the masters of Christmas music with more than 40 million albums sold worldwide. They will perform on December 3, 4, 10, 11, 17 and 18 so make sure you choose one of those dates because they were amazing to see live.
This special holiday entertainment — including the Mannheim Steamroller concerts — is included as part of regular admission to Universal Orlando’s theme parks.
we’ve never been, but it looks like lots of fun!
Looks really really cool! I can’t wait until little man is old enough to enjoy things like that too.
I love the Grinch who stole christmas! If I am ever near there during Christmas I will look into this:)
That looks like so much fun! I can’t wait till my kids are old enough and we can make the trip!
So fun! Wish I didn’t live so far from parks like these 🙁
This gets me so excited since we are heading to FL the first week of December for a surprise birthday at Disney and Universal!
