So my daughter is about to be 8. She’s a big girl you know, so she needs big girl shoes. In the eyes of my daughter that means no more princess, butterflies and flowers.
Okay I said. What did I do? Got her some Heelys. Specifically the new fall style Comet in Gray. Now right off the bat I can tell you that the sizing of Heelys are crazy wrong in my opinion. Makenna wears size 11 but Heelys doesn’t make 11. There smallest size is 13 so I ordered it anyway, it comes and it fits Makenna perfectly. Almost too perfectly since her toes are right by the front of the shoe with no room for growth.
Makenna isn’t exactly the athletic type so I’m not sure what I was thinking but so far she’s been ok. Let’s talk about the shoe itself.
The shoes are definitely made to last. The outside of the shoes are made of double and sometimes triple stitched materials, designed to handle the wear and tear of daily use. As you can see, the soles of the shoes are made of an thick ultra-durable rubber that is more resistant to wear than your typical street shoe.
The inside of the shoe has an extra-thick cushioning pad and even incorporates gel or sorbothane insoles to give you a soft walk and a smooth ride. And you don’t worry about excessive pressure on the heel since the wheel is held in place by a large bracketing system that distributes the pressure across the back of the foot.
Although Makenna hasn’t gotten the hang of heeling yet she’s trying. For now we’ll just keep the black thing in the bottom of the shoe and store the wheels for days off when me or daddy can help her.
I can tell you that she absolutely loves her new Heelys though and wants to wear them all the time. Today was the first day of school and rather wear one of the other 2 pairs of new shoes Makenna excitedly picked our her Heelys to wear and show her friends and new classmates.

Fun! Love the sparkles.
These are cute.
For Heelys, these are really cute!
Love the detailing and designs on these! Cute!
These heelys are really cute! My daughter had some when she was younger but it’s been years since we had them!
How fun! I’m glad she loves them! Most schools here don’t allow them anymore, but I can still see buying some for my son when he is older!
they are so cute!
So cute! The colors are adorable.
My Makenna also isn’t super athletic but she loves her Heelys and is still trying to get the hang of them after all this time. Just keep having her practice, she’ll get it 🙂
she’s to the point now where she doesn’t even want to try because they are “scary”. So we’ll see if she ever gets the hang of them or not :/
Those are very cute!
So neat!
I did a review on those a while back. Shoes were neat, but I about killed myself (ok.. maybe only hurt myself) trying to use them. However, my niece loved them.
Cool! I bet she will love them! They look nice! I will have to look into some once my boys are a bit older bc they would LOVE these!
OhMyGoodness! Those are cute!
My boys have some and love them. Glad your daughter enjoyed them.
These are so cool!
Wow. Heelys. I remember when those came out and I was in high school. Now I feel so old.
Those are pretty cute!
Heelys are so fun for kids! I wish they had them when I was young!
I had a pair like that.It’s cool
I’d want to show them off, too. CUTE!
I love that you can take the wheels out. Would it be totally dorky of I got a pair for me? 😉
I love the look of heelys but my kids never could get the hang of them LOL
I, too, love the feature that you can take out the wheels. My son had a pair like that.
I love that you can use them either way like that. And good job on giving daddy the teaching role with this one. 🙂
My kids were all in High School or college when this type of shoe came out, would of been fun to have them wear them!
These look really cute but I’m so thankful my son never asked for a pair. 🙂
Haha – my Hubs is SO against them…but I think they’re super cool and know my kiddo will too when he’s older
Those are really cute. I’ve been thinking about getting my children some but just haven’t done it yet.
They’re so cute! I had a pair, for adults, and felt like an absolute klutz, so it amazes me when these kids can just zoom around like nothing on them!
