Ah, school. Welcome back. I love you. Well, I never did before but now that I’m a mom I welcome the “BACK TO SCHOOL” time. I love my kids, I really do BUT, I love the semi-quite (I do still have a toddler at home) and being a little more free to run errands without an army following me, and I love not having to entertain the two girls while the little one naps. Don’t worry, I attack them with attention and kisses the second I pick them up from school.

Why school has to start in the midst of the cold and flu season, I have no idea. Giving your kids an extra boost and barrier against those icky germs is just the cool thing to do. And you know if they get sick, you’re also going to get sick so let’s just not allow that to happen. Taking a vitamin to help support our immune system gets them happy and excited. My 6-year-old, especially sinceI explained how vitamins help our bodies. As a mom, I also believe that you should practice what you preach so you bet your butt I also take Nature Made vitamins daily. My kids see their mom making healthy choices so they want to do the same.

How can you also make sure your kids get a great start to the school year?
Breakfast: Skip the cereal and give your kids a strong breakfast. I know cereal can be quick and easy but your kids need to wake up their brain and sugary cereal isn’t the way that is going to happen. Some oatmeal, eggs, cottage cheese or yogurt. All pretty quick with real nutritional value.
Routine: I drill it into my kids daily that having a routine will help your day run smoother. We lay clothes out the night before, place vitamins in a pill container, have backpacks by the garage door.
Don’t stress: Your kids are about to go learn and sit in a classroom for 8 hours. Remember what that is like. Don’t stress and worry about little things in the morning. Leave some time for some fun in the morning as well and they’ll go to school happy and ready for their day.
