Christmas is my favorite time ever! It’s weird because Fall is actually my favorite season, but I love everything about Christmas – the lights, the hot chocolate worthy nights, the sights and sounds, the snow… well I don’t get much snow in Florida, lol, but when I lived in Colorado I loved the snow.
Speaking of Florida since I’m here it’s really hard to get into the Christmas spirit. I mean really, how can you with 70° days, green grass, and palm trees? Well, thanks to the amazing folks at Gaylord Palms I can get a little bit of the winter world even in Florida with their ICE!
With more than two million twinkling lights, an amazing 54-foot-tall Christmas tree, heartwarming visits with Santa, captivating musical events, and exclusive holiday events and attractions for the entire family.
Celebrating its 10th year, ICE! at the Gaylord Palms Orlando is more fun than ever, exhibiting more than 20,000 square feet of hand-carved ice sculptures made of TWO MILLION pounds of ice — including four incredible two-story ice slides. The adventure begins Nov. 10 for people of all ages and is open seven days a week until January 1, 2013.
The whole kicker? Inside the ICE! exhibits it’s a frosty 9° so coats and gloves are definitely recommended. As you see you are given a trend setting bright blue parka which you are required to wear inside the exhibit. Don’t we look like runway models?
This was my 4th time visiting, my parents first, and my daughters’ second and everyone enjoyed it. Kendall was only 16 months last year when she went for the first time and she had a blast so I can tell you first hand I believe this is a place the whole family can visit and enjoy.
This year was our favorite thus far because it features the friendly faces of Madagascar, a movie that is practically on repeat in this house. Can you say “Afro Circus”? lol.
We loved seeing the familiar faces of Alex, Marty, Gloria, Melman, and, of course, King Julian.
